Our Policies at Kelloggs CatteryOUR POLICIES

At Kelloggs Cattery, we breed American Shorthairs that are to the standard and are guaranteed to be healthy and free of infectious disease at time of purchase. By the time kittens are ready to leave the cattery, they will be spayed or neutered and have received the necessary shots needed for the first year. They are guaranteed to be feline leukemia negative, FIV negative and ringworm free.

The Silver Tabby Clan

Kittens are born and raised in our home so they can receive the special attention needed. They are handled several times a day by a number of people and children are frequent visitors to ensure they are well socialized. They are raised under foot and with our yellow Labrador “Sage”. We encourage prospective owners to visit our home/cattery to observe the conditions our kittens are raised in and to evaluate the temperament of the parents.

Kittens will be ready for their new homes at 16 weeks. By this time the kitten will be spayed or neutered and have had all the required shots, will be well socialized, and will be old enough to easily adjust to new owners and environment.
Kittens are sold with registration papers, health certificate, vaccination and health records. The price for a pet quality kitten is $800; show quality is $1,000 and up. This price includes $150 for the Health Exam, Spay / Neuter fees, Vaccines & Deworming. A discount of $100 is given to families who adopt two kittens. A kitten can be reserved for a $100 deposit. Kitten reservations will be on a first come first serve basis from receipt of deposit. If a deposit is not received, there is no guarantee of receiving a kitten.

  • All Kittens will be spayed/neutered and current on all vaccinations before going to new homes.

  • The Cat must not be sold, leased or given away to any pet shop, research laboratory or similar facility.

  • It is our intent to find permanent placement. If the buyer can no longer keep a cat, we will be notified and given first right of taking the cat back.

  • If we choose not to reclaim the cat it is the responsibility of the buyer to place the cat in a loving pet home.

  • The Cat will be kept indoor at all times unless it is in a carrier or on a leash with an adult present.

  • The Cat will not be declawed.

  • If there are other cats in the buyer's household, the cat must be quarantined until the buyer's veterinarian verifies the cat is in good health within 72 hours; otherwise the health guarantee is null and void.

  • The Cat should be fed a premium food. We use and recommend Royal Canin.

We will be available to answer questions or discuss concerns that you may be experiencing.  We like to stay in touch with new owners and encourage you to send us notes and pictures as your kitten grows up.You can download our cat/kitten contract here.
